Features & Options

Every MyFBO system consists of a "CORE" operating system. Since every operation is unique, the Features and Options you select to include in your subscription are the first step in customizing the system to suit your specific operational needs. Most of the Features and Options are enabled during the automated set up process, but they should still be reviewed initially for accuracy. Features and Options can be changed by a Junior or Senior Administrator from the Admin Tab. As your operation grows and changes, you can revisit Features and Options to adjust accordingly. 

If you have any questions about Features and Options that are not addressed in this document, please contact [email protected] for assistance. Once Features and Options have been reviewed or updated, your system is further customized and fine tuned through Parameters and Settings.

Features and Options are broken down into the following sections:

Features are included in the subscription cost of the edition of MyFBO that you use: Standard, Premium, Advanced. Additional options may carry a small monthly charge. Please read MyFBO.com Current Rates for more information.


Standard Edition - Type checkouts / Squawk Tracking

Standard Edition Enabled

Standard Edition includes online scheduling, Pilot Type Checkouts, Squawk tracking, and other MyFBO CORE features.


Premium Edition - Dispatch, Check-In, Receipt Preparation

Premium Edition with Online Dispatch and Check-In Enabled

Allows dispatch, check-in, receipt preparation, tracking of customer transactions, staff and aircraft utilization reporting. This parameter is required for many other features and functions of the software to be operable.

Customer Aircraft Management Enabled

Fuel Management Enabled

Curriculum Tracking Enabled 

Basic Curriculum Tracking (the original version) is a free feature with the ability to name courses of study, enroll students in those curricula, and include the course of study with student reservations and flight data. Giving flight credits for previous training and reporting flight hours by curriculum are also supported.

Advanced Curriculum Tracking is a chargeable option with features that more fully support the training staff at flight schools, academies, and university programs � including those offering Part 141 training. Please read Curriculum Tracking Overview for more information.

Advanced Curriculum Tracking users may have up to 250 open curriculum enrollments (does not include dropped or completed enrollments). Subscribers nearing the 250 open curriculum enrollments limit are automatically prompted to audit their curriculum enrollments or to upgrade to the Unlimited Enrollment option if needed.

Advanced Edition - Customer Accounting, Card Processing, Inventory

Advanced Edition with Customer Accounting Enabled

Allows receipt preparation, tracking of customer transactions and balances, and monthly customer billing. Also allows online credit card processing once an account has been established with AHT Gateway.

Fleet Maintenance Features

Fleet Maintenance Features Enabled

Track engine starts and hours

This option is used to enable tracking engine starts and hours data.

Track maintenance on schedule creation

This option adds maintenance due estimates to the top of the daily schedule as a scheduling tool. This option is not recommended to subscribers with larger schedules as it can slow schedule reload.

Exclude items marked Dispatch OK

This option relates to the one above by limiting maintenance due estimates shown on the daily schedule to only those that would block dispatch.

Show Scheduling Priority on Customer Menu 

This option is used to automatically recommend certain aircraft to customers for scheduling based on the best use of time remaining until maintenance is next due.

Suppress Squawk Tracking 

This option allows you to turn off the Squawk Tracking component of MyFBO if you prefer to use an external system for tracking squawks.


Customer Support Features 

TSA Information Tracking Enabled

Enables TSA data tracking and qualification checking assuming the customer is Not a US citizen.

Track TSA Information by Curriculum

Enables TSA tracking by individual curriculum.

SEVIS Visa Tracking Enabled

Once enabled, allows specification of SEVIS program participation for non-US students in the general information section of their customer record. After a customer has been marked as a SEVIS participant, an option to enter visa information will become available for that student.  
 
Reporting of SEVIS program participants and their visa data is available from the Manage Tab / Customer Reports menu.  
 
The Qualification and Limitation Parameters allow warnings or blocks for missing or expired visas. This qualification is checked only if the customer is a SEVIS participant. Customers with an I-539 on file are not considered to be expired. 

Show Observation Opportunities

Enables reservations for the observation seats.

Students can block observation of their flights

Allows a customer to disable observation opportunities on their own flights.

Communications Features

Status Board Feature Enabled 

Displays a Status Board, normally used for weather conditions, on the Customer Menu, Staff Menu, and Public Display. The Status Board was designed for Universities and Part 141 Schools to display their flight operations status. By having the flight status online, those operators avoid the endless "are we flying today" phone calls.

News Feature Enabled 

Enables the News function and adds it to the Message Center for both staff and customers. A link directly to the News function can also be included on your web site (see Linking to MyFBO.com).  You can use the News function to make customers aware of changes at your organization without the need to involve your webmaster.

Personal Messaging Feature Enabled 

Enables the Personal Message function. Personal messages can be sent by staff to customers. The links to send personal messages show up at the bottom of many customer related pages such as view reservations, view previous flights, view cancellations, and view time in type. Messages are then receive on the Message Center.

Online Inquiry Feature Enabled 

Online Inquiry provides a function similar to MyFBO.com Support Requests and Responses.  Your customers can enter an inquiry for you from their Home tab.  These inquiries will be available for response from your Connect tab.  A customer inquiry may also trigger e-mails to one or more staff, as well as flashing alerts in the status bar, as specified in your Identification / E-Mail Parameters.

Responses are always posted as a Personal Message to the customer visible on login.  Responses may also be sent to customers via e-mail.

E-Mail Footers and Page Additions Enabled

Enables customizable footers to be placed on all e-mails generated by the system and additional text to be added to selected pages.

Web Content Generation Enabled

Enables Web Content Generator.

Enables tracking of prospects and Marketing Menu.

Safety Management

Hazard and Incident Reporting Enabled

Enables entry of hazard and incident reports.  Note: A Safety Manager email address will need to be setup in the Identification Parameters.

Allow Safety Reporting by Customers 

Allows customers to enter Hazard / Incident Reports.

Disable Flight Operations Incidents 

Disables the reporting of flight operations incidents within the online system although other Hazards and Incidents may still be entered.

Additional Features

Comments on Customers Enabled 

Allows the entry and maintenance of an unlimited number of comments and related follow-up for each customer or member.  Comments can be viewed only by staff and are considered part of the customer's permanent record.

Renewal Tracking Enabled 

Supports tracking of company certificates, documents, and certificates for expiration and renewal.

Advanced Certificates Enabled

Allows for definition of a template describing the look and format to be used for various types of certificates generated by the online system, and may be used to generate: Gift Certificates, Curriculum Enrollment Certificates, Curriculum Graduation Certificates.

Customer Group Management Enabled 

Allows the ability to assign customers to one of fifteen predefined groups.  (Example: Part 61 Student or Part 141 Students.)

Staff Departments Enabled

Useful for larger operations because it allows designated department heads to more easily view and manage staff time reports and time clock records for just those individuals in their department.

Instructor Assignments Enabled

Allows customers to be assigned to one or more instructors. When the customer self-schedules, they will only be allowed to schedule with assigned instructors. When being scheduled by staff, by default the scheduler will only present the assigned instructors, but staff can click a link to see all the instructors if needed.

Database Reporting Enabled

Enables an additional Database Report Generator. This report generator creates customized reports on almost all the data within the online system.  These reports are available for export in a delimited format or into Microsoft Excel.

Allow read-only user access to management data

 The purpose of this feature is to allow external (non-staff) users read only access to management data and reports. You can allow your FSDO access to maintenance data. In addition, this feature can be used to allow the FSDO access to Part 141 curriculum tracking data or service order data.

AVEMCO FBO Partner ID

For AVEMCO Partners only. Please read Avemco Announcement.

Avemco FBO Partners should enter their partner ID code. This enables a partner link to Avemco for staff users from the Support Tab / Affiliates Menu. Customers / Members will see the link from their Home Tab / Insurance Menu and from the Home Tab / Help & Guidance Menu.
