Flight Pricing Parameters

Flight Pricing Parameters allow you to set up special prices, surcharges, and discounts. These parameters can be set by an Administrator from the Admin tab / Parameters and Settings menu.

Club Pricing

Club pricing is NOT for flying clubs who would use the regular pricing structures within the online system.  Instead, club pricing allows an FBO or flight school to operate an internal "club" which has a different set of aircraft and flight staff prices only for club members.

Enabling this feature provides club pricing fields in the Resource Data for each resource.  The club rate is applied on check-in ONLY if the club member field in the customer's profile has been checked.

Aircraft Reservation Surcharge

A reservation surcharge is a fee just for reserving an aircraft.  In effect, it is your cost for making an aircraft available for rental.  Chargeable custom programming is always required to use this feature.

A reservation surcharge can be used as an inverse cancellation fee – you can assess the reservation surcharge even if the proposed flight is canceled.

Off-Peak Pricing

Off-peak pricing is a means for providing discounts to customers who fly at times when aircraft utilization is low.  Off-peak pricing (daily and hourly) applies only to single day flights, i.e., flights that begin at or after 00:00 and end at or before 00:00 the next day.

For both off-peak days and off-peak hours, you must specify to whom the rate applies.  You may include or exclude all rentals, customer marked as club members, customers already receiving prepay rates, or customers already receiving level rates.  Fuel and insurance surcharges are not discounted.  

Off-peak rates can be expressed in either of two ways:

• As a percentage of the otherwise applicable rate.  (Typically, off peak rates range between 80 and 95 percent.)
• As a negative unit of currency. For example, "-2.00" will result in two dollars/euros/etc. being subtracted from the otherwise applicable rate.

Off-peak rates do NOT compound, i.e., customers who receive a discount for flying on an off-peak day will not also receive a discount for flying at an off-peak time.

Automatic Selection of Instructor Advanced Rental Premium

When setting instruction rates in an instructor's resource record, you have the option to set a premium/surcharge for IFR/Advanced Instruction. For details, please read Rates. 

The Automatic Selection of Instructor Advanced Rental Premium feature allows you to define when the flag for the application of the advanced instruction premium will be automatically applied on check-in, decreasing the chances of staff forgetting to check the appropriate box to apply the premium.

If you select Advanced Rental Premium for specific curricula, if a reservation is made with the applicable curriculum selected, it automatically gets the "Advanced" box checked on the check-in form to apply the advanced instructor premium on the receipt. 

If you select Advanced Rental Premium for specific aircraft types, if a reservation is made with the applicable aircraft type selected, it automatically gets the "Advanced" box checked on the check-in form to apply the advanced instructor premium on the receipt.
