Rates

Resource data for an individual resource can be entered, reviewed, and updated by a manager from the Manage Tab / Resource Management menu using the Change Resource Data option.

Note: Often you will want to review and update the same specific type of information for all resources at once. Then the Change ALL Resource option is a better choice, as it allows bulk review/editing of specific information for ALL resources at once. For more information, please see Change ALL Resource.

To change data for a resource, select the resource from the drop down box next to Change Resource Data for. This opens the "Resource Data Selection" screen. Different sections of the resource record are accessed from options listed on the Resource Data Selection screen.

The Rates screen is where most of the rates and premiums for the rental of resources are set. Every resource has a default hourly rate, then premiums may be added to the default rate, or the default rate may be adjusted based on special arrangements with certain groups / types of customers.

Before setting resource rates, it is helpful to do the following:

• Create a list of all your rates and all your special deals for different types of customers. Remember, when creating pricing plans, it is important to keep it as simple as possible. Even though your MyFBO system can greatly automate the application of special prices, staff need to easily understand pricing plans.
• Review the following parameters and settings (documentation linked below):
  • Financial Parameters
  • Pricing Parameters
  • Special Offer Parameters
  • Customer Level Parameters
  • Receipt Preparation Parameters
• If you have a complicated pricing plan with multiple levels, it is important to understand the order in which your MyFBO system will apply the rates. Here is how the system looks for and the order in which resource rates are applied:

1. Assumes default hourly rate

2. Checks type of flight

    a. If rental flight and club rental rate > 0 and customer is club member, use club rental rate

        (Enabled in Pricing Parameters, set in Customer Record)

    b. If rental flight and prepay rate > 0 and customer is prepay qualified, use prepay rate

        (Prepay qualified means customer had more than minimum balance AT THE TIME OF DISPATCH.)    

    c. If scenic flight and scenic rate > 0, use scenic rate

    d. If charter flight and charter rate > 0, use charter rate

3. If customer level > 0 and level rental rate > 0 use level rental rate

4. If customer level > 0 and level rental rate < 0 use zero rate (the -1 = 0 trick)

5. Check for off-peak rates enabled (Pricing Parameters). If enabled,

    a. Apply daily off-peak percentage

    b. Otherwise apply hourly off-peak percentage

6. If customer is aircraft owner and owner rate >= 0 use owner rate (Set in Aircraft Management)
