Dispatch to Maintenance

There are a number of ways to take an aircraft out of service for maintenance. For an overview of them all, please see View Aircraft Presently Blocked, Grounded or Scheduled for Maintenance.

Unlike the other methods, Dispatch to Maintenance does not show up as a reserved for maintenance block on the daily schedules. Instead, the aircraft will show up on the Review Tab / Review Dispatch Status page as blocked for maintenance, and all dispatch for the aircraft will be blocked until such time as the maintenance block is removed. (Dispatch block can be bypassed via Manager override.)

To dispatch an aircraft to maintenance, do the following:

  1. Click the Manage Tab.
  2. Click Maintenance.
  3. Scroll down to the Maintenance Block / Completion section.
  4. Locate Dispatch to Maintenance
  5. Select the aircraft, and click Go.
  6. Note the warning pop up, pictured below, and click OK if you wish to continue.

  8. A dispatch ticket will be created that can be printed for use in tracking the meter hours elapsed during  maintenance.
  9. On the Review Dispatch Status page, the aircraft will show a Blocked for Maintenance label. See example below.

Return Aircraft to Service

Returning the aircraft to service is a two step process:

  1. Use one of the options below to remove the dispatch block.
  2. In either case, a ticket must be entered to return the aircraft to service. If the aircraft was blocked for a non-maintenance issue, the default Return to Service ticket is used. If the aircraft was blocked for maintenance, a Maintenance ticket is used, and a Return to Service option will be available during the preparation of the maintenance ticket. See examples below.
