Flight Revenue Type
The majority of flights entered into the system are revenue-generating flights where the customer is billed for aircraft time and staff hours are included in staff time and commission reports. However, it is occasionally necessary to record special flight time, such as a test flight after maintenance or a ferry flight to reposition the aircraft, without generating customer charges or recording staff time as paid time.
The Flight Revenue Type shortcut may be used to specify these special flights during the Check-in process. After submitting meter readings for the flight, the system displays elapsed meter readings and billable flight hours. The Flight Revenue Type shortcut is located immediately below the elapsed time:
Flight Revenue Type Options:
Enabling Flight Revenue Type Selection During Check-in
To enable the ability to create non-revenue or non-commission flights, turn on the Allow Flight Revenue Type selection during check-in parameter located in Dispatch and Check-in parameters.
By default, this feature is only available to Manager Level staff users. Staff users may be permitted to use the feature by changing the Staff level can change Flight Revenue Type parameter in Staff parameters.
Non-Revenue Hours on Aircraft Utilization Report
Non-Revenue Flight Hours will appear in the Hours Not Billed column.
Non-Commission Hours on Staff Time and Commission Report
Staff Hours on Non-Revenue/Non-Commission flights will appear highlighted on the report. Aircraft Hours are reported, however that time is not included in the Commission Hours column or the 'Earned' calculation.
Leaseback Accounting for Non-Revenue Hours
Non-Revenue flights will appear in the Unbilled / Special Hours column on the Customer Aircraft Charges / Credits report. This column also includes any maintenance time. When leaseback credits for special hours are applied, the leaseback owner is credited at the Unbilled Unit Hourly Payment rate.
