Accounting Export

These parameters provide the specification needed for MyFBO to create an export file that will be accepted for import by QuickBooks or Simply Accounting. If you plan to import MyFBO data into either accounting software, your Accounting Export Parameters must be set.

Customer Name Conventions

First Name First: (Yes/No)

If your external accounting software tracks customers by last name first, then answer no; if by first name first, answer yes.

Space Between Names: (Yes/No)

Choose yes if your external accounting software puts a space between names.

Comma Between Names: (Yes/No)

Choose yes if your external accounting software puts commas between names.

Max. Length of First Name: ______

Enter a numeric value for the maximum length of first names.  Many software products limit lengths of first and last names.

Max. Length of Last Name: ______

Enter a numeric value for the maximum length of last names.  Many software products limit lengths of first and last names.

Include Customer ID: Yes/No

The MyFBO.com System applies an ID to each customer.  Choose yes if you want this ID number in the export file.  Many other software products apply their own ID numbers.

Revenue Accounts

The bulk of the Accounting Export Parameters page consists of a master list of accounts. These accounts are divided as follows:

• MyFBO Defined Accounts - default accounts and codes predefined in the MyFBO system
• User Defined Charges - special charges that have been defined by the subscriber (Charge Shortcuts)
• User Defined Credits - special credits that have been defined by the subscriber
• Monthly - issued monthly, such as leaseback and monthly dues
• Tax - must also be set in Location Parameters> Taxes
• Payments - all standard payment types
• Charges - in house accounts such as monthly, prepay, special

You must enter a corresponding export account name for every MyFBO account used. The name must match exactly with the account name in your accounting software.

Vendor Name (Commissioned Resources, e.g. Flight Instructors) Conventions

First Name First: (Yes/No)

Choose no if Vendors are tracked by last name first and yes if they are tracked by first name first.

Space Between Names: (Yes/No)

Choose yes if your external accounting software puts a space between names.

Vendor Bill (Commission) Accounts

Payable From:

This sets the Payable From account.  Note this is to match the words Payable From, do not enter an account name here.
