Formats and Defaults - Schedule Displays

The Format and Default Parameters (Schedule) include options to define the default appearance of the Daily Schedule in your MyFBO system. These parameters can be set by an Administrator from the Parameters and Settings menu.

Daily Schedule Defaults

The Daily Schedule is the schedule viewed when using the "Flights Today" option (Schedules / Flights Today). This is the most used schedule in the system, and it is important to consider formatting it in such a way as to make it most useful for desk staff.

Resources (Aircraft, Flight Training Devices, Staff, Other Resources)

If you have a large number of resources in your system, you can select to show only Aircraft by default. This can make a large Daily Schedule easier to view. If you use this option, there will be a link on the default Daily Schedule to toggle to the "Staff Schedule".

Orientation

If you have more than one aircraft of the same type, you should consider using the Vertical orientation for the default Daily Schedule. During the process of creating an aircraft resource in your system, an aircraft type is selected. In the Vertical orientation, aircraft labeled as the same type are grouped together under an aircraft type link. Dispatchers can click on this aircraft type link to see all aircraft of that type and quickly make last minute swaps between aircraft if needed.

Use landscape width

This option sets the Daily Schedule printout to landscape mode. Larger operators usually select landscape because of paper size limitations.

Exclude squawks

Unless excluded, unresolved squawks for aircraft are listed as notes at the bottom of the Daily Schedule.

Exclude staff on days off

You may choose not to display staff with the day off on the schedule. This is intended to streamline the schedule reports and printouts and eliminate part-time flight staff from the schedule view if they have no flights. With proper authority, reservations can still be made for these staff from the Click & Drag Scheduler.

Additional Daily Schedule Options

Additional Daily Schedule options include maintenance status and resource notes on the Daily Schedule.

Estimated Time until Maintenance (TuM) is enabled by an Administrator through an option found in the Feature and Option Parameters: Track maintenance on schedule creation.

Resource Notes are enabled for individual resources by a Manager or higher from the Resource Management menu. When updating a resource record, the "Miscellaneous" option allows for the entry of a resource note, and the choice of showing the note on the Daily Schedule.

Schedule Colors

Reservations on the Daily Schedule are color coded to allow for quick identification of the reservation type. After numerous requests, these color defaults can be now be changed. Please be judicious in choosing background and text color combinations. The wrong combinations can lead to a schedule that is difficult to read. Also, black and gray shades are used throughout the MyFBO system to to highlight a number of situations, such as deleted line items on receipts, cancelled tickets, deactivated resources, inactive customers, aircraft blocked for maintenance, etc. Please do not use any shade of black or gray as a Background or Overview color.

New colors can be easily selected by clicking on the colored block next to the color you wish to change. This results in a screen opening that contains a color wheel. Simply click the new color that you wish to use. You can always go back to the MyFBO default system colors by clicking the "Restore Standard Colors" button.

Dual Monitor Defaults

These settings determine what information is included on the second monitor when a dual monitor system is used. MyFBO has long supported dual-monitor computers. One monitor displays the online system as usual. The other shows a special daily schedule one that includes dispatch status as well as late aircraft returns. For more information, please see Subscriber News - Issue 45.
