Importing Prospects
To import prospects the Marketing option must first be enabled by an Administrator from the Admin Tab / Features & Options menu. The prospects import function then appears on the Connect tab / Marketing menu.
Prospect import files must be in a comma separated values (CSV) file. CSV files can be imported, created, and saved using a number of programs. Excel is commonly used to create CSV files. In Excel simply save your worksheet as CSV. There is a list of possible fields and maximum field lengths below. (Note: If the import data is longer, it will be truncated.)
Field Name | Maximum Length |
|
6 25 10 35 35 35 35 35 25 25 12 25 20 20 20 20 64 64 4 mm/dd/yy(yy) 15 25 35 true or false |
The header (first) row in the file specifies the fields to be imported. "firstname" and "lastname" are required fields. A field can have the special field name "ignore" to cause the associated data to be omitted from the import.
If the "email" field is populated, the address must be unique. Otherwise, that row will not be imported.
If the "home_apt" field is not present (or present but blank), your primary airport ID will be used.
The "lupdate" field can be used to specify the date the lead was taken. If empty, the import program substitutes the current date and time. In addition, the import program automatically populates the "created" field (not importable) with the current date and time.
The "udef1" field is used in the CPC import to assign a unique lead ID. This prevents duplication of Cessna data, but can be used for any purpose for other-than-CPC imports.
The "udef3" field is reserved for the source of the lead in prospect data. While this field is not required, it is used to identify leads in a batch that you may wish to mail to.
