First Flights Tomorrow
The First Flights Tomorrow report provides for e-mailing the first flight time for each staff resource (and to the e-mail addresses associated with an aircraft if desired) each day. This is particularly useful for flight schools with an instructor scheduling cutoff time that occurs each evening, since it reminds instructors of their reporting time the next day.
The First Flights report can be accessed from the Schedules Tab / More Daily Schedules menu. Typically the last staff member to leave for the day is tasked with printing the report as a backup for the next morning (in case of internet outage) and with emailing the report. Selections required are whether to e-mail to staff resources only or all resources (including aircraft), whether to send e-mail to all resource e-mail addresses or just SMS (pager) addresses, and whether to send an e-mail if there are no flights scheduled.
Alternatively, sending of first flight notifications can be automated using
the Windows Task Scheduler on a computer that remains powered on. To
automate First Flight e-mails, add
the following command (or similar) on a single line to your computer's Task Scheduler for the appropriate time:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE"
-new http://s##.myfbo.com/r/send_first.asp?fbo=XXXX&mailto=&email=&ifnone="
For ##, substitute your server number
For XXXX, substitute your MyFBO.com identifier
substituting for the following parameters:
&mailto=staff - or - &mailto=all
&email=all - or - &email=sms
&ifnone=yes - or - &ifnone=no
You can locate your server number and MyFBO identifier in your online system via the Admin Tab / View System Information.
If you need help with the Windows Task Scheduler, please contact the person who does your local computer support, not MyFBO. There are too many operating system variations for MyFBO to be of assistance.
