The MyFBO.com definition of a resource is anything that can be scheduled and rented to a customer in half-hour increments. Resources fall into one of four categories: aircraft, flight training device, staff (instructors, scenic pilots, charter / fractional crew, mechanics), or other (e.g., classrooms, written test computers, courtesy cars, block heaters).

Note: The number of resources used by a subscriber is also one of the basis for MyFBO.com's monthly fees. The number of resources is a proxy for the actual workload and storage requirements imposed on the MyFBO.com Internet servers.

List and Change Resource Data

To display a  list of resources with the ability for update, click the "List and Change Resource Data" link on the Manage tab / Resource Management Menu.  The "Resource List" page will appear. From this page you may set up all information about your resources. 

• To change resource data click on the Resource ID (tail number, pilot's last name).
• To view inactive resources click the "Include Inactive Resources" link at the top of the table. 
• To see a record of who last updated resource data, mouse over the blue "i" in the right hand column of the table.  

Resources highlighted in pink are resources that are not being scheduled. A review of these may indicate resources that can be made inactive. 

Deleting or Inactivating Resources

To delete resources (instructors, aircraft), they must first be made inactive. In most cases, this the only step that you should take. MyFBO.com does not charge a fee for inactive resources, but all the data linked to inactive resources remains in the system for future retrieval. To inactivate a resource:

• Manage Tab
• Resource Management
• Change Resource Data for selected resource
• Caution: Resources may have active reservations! If available at the bottom of the page, review the options to "List future reservations" and "Reassign future reservations" before you make the resource inactive.
• Click the "Availability Dates" link
• Make the "Not Available After" date a date before today's date and then click the "Update Resource" button. The resource will then be inactive, which means it does not appear at all for scheduling (and you do not get charged for it by MyFBO.com).  
• MyFBO.com Premium and Advanced Edition Subscribers should stop here.  Premium and Advanced Edition Subscribers should never delete resources, just inactivate them. Once a resource is deleted, related data is gone and can not be retrieved!
• If you are absolutely sure that you must delete a resource, click the "Availability Dates" link again. Now that the resource is inactive, there will be a "Delete Resource" button.
